About Us: Palcall Tsumagoi Resort is dedicated to providing an exceptional guest experience. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Hotel Manager to join our team and lead our operations during the upcoming ski season.

Fluent in English and Japanese (N2) is a MUST!

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee Daily Operations: Manage and supervise all aspects of the hotel’s daily operations, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning of departments such as front desk, housekeeping, food and beverage, reservations, maintenance, and guest services.
  2. Staff Management: Recruit, hire, train, and supervise department heads and staff members, providing guidance, rostering, performance evaluations, and ongoing training to maintain high service standards and employee morale.
  3. Guest Satisfaction: Ensure exceptional guest experiences by implementing and maintaining high-quality service standards, handling guest complaints or concerns, and taking necessary actions to resolve issues promptly.
  4. Budgeting and Financial Management: Develop and manage departmental budgets, monitor expenses, and implement cost control measures to maximize revenue and profitability. Review financial reports, analyze data, and make strategic decisions to optimize operational efficiency.
  5. Operational Policies and Procedures: Develop, implement, and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all departments to ensure consistency, efficiency, and compliance with brand standards, legal requirements, and health and safety regulations.
  6. Collaboration and Communication: Foster effective communication and collaboration among departments, promoting teamwork, and coordinating efforts to achieve operational goals and deliver exceptional guest service. Liaise with other departments, such as sales, marketing, and finance, to align strategies and initiatives.
  7. Quality Assurance: Implement quality assurance programs and conduct regular inspections and audits to maintain cleanliness, safety, and service standards throughout the hotel. Address any issues or non-compliance promptly and take corrective actions as necessary.
  8. Revenue Management: Collaborate with the revenue management team to optimize room rates, occupancy, and revenue generation. Monitor market trends, competitors, and guest feedback to identify opportunities for revenue growth and implement appropriate strategies.
  9. Staff Training and Development: Identify training needs and provide ongoing training and development programs for department heads and staff members to enhance their skills, knowledge, and service delivery. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  10. Relationship Management: Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors, suppliers, and key stakeholders to ensure the availability of quality products and services. Collaborate with local community organizations and participate in industry events to promote the hotel’s brand and reputation.

Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of hotel operations, including front desk, housekeeping, food and beverage, reservations, maintenance, and guest services.
  • Excellent leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle guest complaints and resolve conflicts.
  • Financial acumen and experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and revenue management.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with guests, staff members, and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in hotel management software and computer systems.
  • Knowledge of local regulations and industry trends in the hospitality sector.
  • Fluent in English and Japanese (N2).
  • Related licenses or willingness to obtain the licenses after joining within the probation period.
