Position Overview:
We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist to lead HR operations for our hotel in Japan while being based in Thailand. This role will oversee the full employee lifecycle, ensuring an exceptional employee experience in alignment with local labor laws and global company standards. You will work closely with both the Thai and Japanese teams to manage recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, and compensation and benefits.
This opportunity is ideal for a Japanese professional living in Thailand who is fluent English, with the flexibility to travel to Japan for 3–6 months per year. A passion for the hospitality industry and a proven ability to navigate cross-cultural environments are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
HR Operations
- Handle visa and work permit processes for Thai employees traveling to Japan.
- Maintain and update employee records, ensuring compliance with local labor laws and company policies.
- Develop and implement HR policies tailored to the hospitality industry.
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Design and execute recruitment strategies to attract and hire qualified candidates for various hotel positions.
- Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, including job postings, sourcing, interviews, and offer management.
- Support employer branding and employee value proposition initiatives to attract top talent.
- Facilitate a seamless onboarding process for new hires, ensuring they are fully prepared and integrated into the organization.
Compensation & Benefits
- Oversee and manage employee compensation and benefits, ensuring they are competitive and compliant with local regulations.
- Support the payroll process, ensuring accuracy and timely disbursements.
- Monitor and address employee satisfaction with compensation and benefits to improve retention.
Employee Engagement & Communication
- Lead internal communication efforts, including newsletters, announcements, and updates to keep employees informed and engaged.
- Organize and manage employee engagement activities that align with the company's culture and goals.
- Act as the primary HR contact for all employee concerns, fostering a positive and open work environment.
Qualifications:
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in HR, including recruitment, onboarding, and employee engagement. Experience in the hospitality industry is a plus.
- Language Skills: Strong English communication skills are also required.
- Flexibility: Willingness to travel to Japan for 3–6 months per year as part of the role.
- Cultural Adaptability: Ability to work in a multinational environment and adapt to cultural differences.
- HR Expertise: Knowledge of compensation and benefits, employee engagement strategies, and HR compliance.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with a passion for supporting and developing employees.
